No, I haven’t seen the Twilight movie

I’ve been asked when my review of the Twilight movie is coming. Here’s my answer: It’s not. Unless you wait until it goes to DVD. At which point my husband and I will watch it, fast-forwarding the extra-lame parts.

Yes, I enjoyed the book. In a guilty-pleasure-this-is-how-I-read-Dan-Brown kind of way. It’s TV for the brain. And it is entertaining and there is some suspense and action that gets you through it. But my enjoyment of the Twilight saga has waned with each book, and I barely managed to get through Breaking Dawn.

Ultimately, Twilight is mostly about love and angst. And I pay money to see movies at the theater for adventure, action and explosions. Comedies and romance, in my opinion, belong on the small screen.

So, for those of you who care, this is what I’ve got for Twilight reviews:

  1. Ya, I was disappointed in the Twilight series as it progressed. But have you tried reading “The Host”? Much better written and goes into some deeper subjects. And no whiny Bella. 🙂

  2. The Host is on my list of books to read. I’ve discovered Sharon Shinn, though, and it may take me awhile to get back to Meyers. Shinn has a lot of great books.

    Doreen – Somehow I think you’ll survive 😉

  3. I liked the Host too because it was totally different. And I love how you posted The Reviews…you never cease to crack me up! I got two different reviews, one from a GUNG HO Twilight Fan and one from a fan like me and you ~ they both laughed through the entire movie even though it wasn’t supposed to be funny…must’ve been made for teenage girls.

  4. You are so funny. The Twilight craze is amazing. I am a huge Harry Potter nerd and perhaps this is my bias but it seems to be different. I haven’t yet gotten sucked into the fad yet. For now I will just sit back and see all the females ages 14-50 go crazy for a character named Edward!!
