Memorial Day

I think it’s important to remember — especially to remember those who have given their lives in service to our country. The sacrifices made on our behalf are significant, and we should remember that the relative peace and security that we feel right here at home are paid for by the time and the lives of brave men and women who fight elsewhere. Memorial Day is a great time to reflect.

So, as you break out the barbecue and enjoy a holiday from work, take a few minutes to think about how you have benefitted from the service of those who gave all.

One Response to Memorial Day

  1. I’m not trying to be contrary here but I cannot for the life of me believe we should single out one day to thank our men and women in uniform. Those who have chosen to serve and protect deserve far more than one day a year of thanks and appreciation. The idea of a single day is contrary to the idea that we owe our very freedoms to these brave men and women. Every day must be Memorial Day and every day we owe a deep debt of gratitude. Sorry for the rant but it is important to remember this crucial point.
